            <description><![CDATA[Global law firm, Norton Rose Fulbright has advised Kamoa Copper S.A. on the US$200M financing in relation to phase three of the expansion of its operations at the world-class Kamoa-Kakula Copper Complex (Kamoa) in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The financing for phase three of Kamoa was arranged by Rawbank SA with FirstBank DRC SA and Absa Bank also providing funding. The funds will contribute towards the mine’s goal to produce 600 000 tonnes of ore as well as generate an additional 178 megawatts (MW) of clean hydroelectric power for the national grid.]]></description>

            <description><![CDATA[On 25 October 2022, the Johannesburg High Court (per Sutherland DJP) handed down judgment in the matter of Van Wyk and others v the Minister of Employment and Labour. Norton Rose Fulbright SA Inc’s Impact Litigation team acted on behalf of the Commission for Gender Equality, the fourth applicant. The matter concerned the question as to whether the provisions of the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, 1997 regulating parental leave, unfairly discriminate against various types of parent; are contrary to the interests of the child; and impair the dignity of parents and their children.]]></description>

            <title>REFUSED: Minister's application for leave to appeal</title>

            <description><![CDATA[A full bench of the high court has refused the Minister of Home Affair's application for leave to appeal in respect of the Zimbabwean Exemption Permit (ZEP) matter. In June 2023 the High Court granted an order declaring the Minister’s decision, to terminate the ZEP, to grant a limited extension of 12 months and to refuse further extensions beyond June 2023, unlawful, unconstitutional and invalid. The Minister was directed to reconsider his decision and ensure that any further decision complies with administrative action rights as contained in sections 3 and 4 of the Promotion of Administrative Justice Act, 2000. In particular, the Minister must consult with interested NGOs, the public and ZEP holders. The Minister applied for leave to appeal that decision which has just been refused.]]></description>

Endeavour Mining will receive payments that are expected to exceed $300-million, which are comprised of upfront and deferred cash considerations and net smelter return royalties.]]></description>
