With virtual classes, graduations and potential job appointments now being the ‘new normal’ law candidates find themselves overwhelmed, wondering what the #FutureofLaw will look like, how the industry is adapting to the Covid-19 pandemic and what this means for their career trajectory.

Software-as-a-service recruitment platform, Leaply, in partnership with School Advisor and consulting firm Decusatio, will host an inaugural #FutureofLaw digital event on Tuesday 28 July with the aim of allowing law candidates to engage with the country’s top law firms on the future of the industry.

Tiaan van der Spuy, founder of Leaply says the company has a long-standing relationship with top law firms in the country and over 10,000 law candidates using its system to apply for Articles at these firms.

‘With physical on-campus career days no longer possible, the opportunities for candidates to engage with their favourite firms are currently extremely limited,’ van der Spuy explains.

Firms including Bowmans, Weber Wentzel and Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr or CDH, will have 15 minutes to present to candidates before a live 10-minute Q&A session is opened to the audience. Candidates will be able to ask questions from the comfort of their couch and a more personalised conversation will be had with each law firm in the chatroom where candidates can ask more detailed, individualised questions.

Please find attached the full media release. Tiaan is available to discuss how organisations are adapting to the covid-19 pandemic while attracting young talent who face uncertainty mounted by covid-19 and other macro-economic challenges.
