SACP: Statement by Bonakele Majuba, South African Communist Party spokesperson, on the Mpumalanga PEC (13/10/2009)

13th October 2009

We re-affirm our support for the revolutionary government's delivery
policies, based on the ANC's Limpopo historic conference and the ANC's
manifesto priorities.

We are convinced that this Jacob Zuma led government is spot on, in
marshalling all revolutionary interests of the people of South Africa.

The majority of our people want free quality public education, health,
rural development, safety and security, even for those who can't afford
high fences and body guards and decent work to improve the living
standards of our people. If the implementation of the above decisions is
the imposition of the Communist manifest to the ANC, then some is trying
to redefine the ANC.

We have been wondering all along, who was trying to vilify, the general
secretary of the SACP for joining the cabinet to advance a revolutionary
ideological battle on education, be, in transforming it, to also benefit
the poor in the country. Cde Blade has not abandoned the SACP, we have
requested him as the party to be part of that cabinet.

There will be no revolt against President Jacob Zuma by ANC members, for
implementing ANC Polokwane resolutions, that caters for the majority of
the people of South Africa, not for a few, opportunistic individuals,
who want to use the ANC to facilitate their personal accumulation.

Billy Masetla and the few anonymous reactionary, quoted in the Mail &
Guardian weekend newspaper confirm what is stated in SACP special
congress documentation about the New Tendency.

He is a useful idiot of the class project who only jumped
opportunistically when the class project dumped him. As a matter of fact
in the past, it was re-actioneries like him who were expelled from the
ANC not any principled communist.

We believe that people like him must be disciplined in the ANC for
putting the organisation into disrepute and for inciting members of the
ANC to revolt against the President.

We further resolved to intensify our support of our present leadership
and the entire Alliance.

We call upon our communities, throughout the province to use proper
channels to express their dissatisfaction in service delivery, we
understand their frustrations and strongly believe that our
revolutionary government, especially post Limpopo shall listen to them.

We fully support COSATU's resolution on the banning of labour brokers
and pledge to be always with them in fighting against the explicit
exploitation of one by another.

We appeal to the government to resolve the Moutse demarcation dispute as
speedily as possible, so as to bring stability to the area. We commend
our government for conducting a referendum in that area, to check the
majority view of the people. We hope that, our government shall listen
to the people.
