The National Education Health and Allied Workers’ Union [NEHAWU] will be holding its National Policy Conference from the 26th -29th June 2019, at Birchwood Hotel, Boksburg, Gauteng Province.

The National Policy Conference is convened to review the Strategic Policy Framework [SPF] which deals with the union’s political, socioeconomic and organisational strategy. At this policy conference, delegates are to shape NEHAWU’s policy drawn from the historical and concrete conditions in anticipation of our future and also develop a plan for the next decade in relation to working class internationalism, the national political situation, health, education, the economy and the public service.

To ground our discussions for the SPF, the conference will extensively discuss the notion of a progressive developmental state and locate our role in building such a state. Given the location of the union and terrain which is in the public sector and the private sector, the union will adopt its posture regarding its relations with the 6th administration of our government.

The conference will receive addresses from the Tripartite Alliance [ANC, SACP, COSATU and WFTU] and be blessed by the presence of our sister organizations from both abroad and here at home.

The 11th National Policy Conference is scheduled as follows:

Date: June 26 – 29, 2019
Venue: Birchwood Hotel, 14 View Point Rd, Bartlett AH, Boksburg

Members of the media are invited to attend, cover and report on the conference. To confirm attendance, journalists are requested to send their responses to the National Spokesperson by email to khaya@nehawu.org.za

The following information should be included in the confirmation reply for accreditation and logistical purposes:

·        Name and Surname
·        Name of Media Institution
·        Contact details [email and cell phone number]

Closing date for application for accreditation is Friday June 21, 2019
