The National Energy Regulator (NERSA) is a regulatory authority established as a juristic person in Terms of Section 3 of the National Energy Regulator Act,204(ActNo.40of204). NERSA's mandate includes regulation of the electricity supply industry. According to Section 4(i) of the Electricity Regulation Act,206 (Act No.4of206) (the ERA'), the Energy Regulator must regulate electricity prices and tariffs.
