PRESIDENT MBEKI's CONGRATULATORY NOTE ON THE OCCASION OF THE LAUNCH OF THISDAY NEWSPAPER
During the first institutional victories of pan Africanism in the 1950s there was an efflorescence of new voices in the decolonised capitals of Ghana, Nigeria, Tanzania and elsewhere. Now South Africa is catching up.
We welcome THISDAY as a pan African investment and a further triumph of the liberties enjoyed by all South Africans since 1994.
It is always a pleasure to see the arrival of a new newspaper. We hope that this newspaper will give voice to the many people who do not have a voice. It is a tough market, but we hope that you will prosper in the marketplace.
