NSDV Appoints Two More Women to Bolster Specialist Legal Offering 

NSDV is Africa’s first fully integrated law and consultancy firm specialising in mining, construction, energy, and environmental law; and most recently boasts a 70% women-led legal team. 

Nel de Jager and Nicole Kruger have been appointed as Senior Associate for Corporate and Commercial Law and Associate for Environmental law, respectively. 

“We are so pleased to continue our incredible growth as a firm, and even more so to celebrate phenomenal women in the industry with these appointments," said NSDV Director Lili Nupen.

de Jager joins NSDV in the Corporate and Commercial law department with 14 years of experience that spans an already impressive career, from a corporate restructuring for a large pharmaceutical group to establishing a new B-BBEEE board of the JSE. 

“I really like the NSDV model which is unlike most traditional law firms. It combines some of the best legal minds in the country with brilliant business minds and I’m exceptionally excited to have found a home at this special firm,” said de Jager.

Kruger joins NSDV at an earlier career point, but her three years of experience has helped her grow into a passionate attorney with a focus on Environmental Law. She has represented prominent South African mining companies in high-profile High Court and Supreme Court of Appeal proceedings. 

“I was immediately drawn to NSDV’s contemporary and innovative approach, both in respect of legal issues and business practices and regarding their employees. I was also really impressed by the friendly people and warm environment that I experienced during each encounter with NSDV, and that’s why I’ve chosen to join the team,” quips Kruger.

“It’s not common to see twice as many women attorneys than men. We genuinely believe that unlike much else in mining, the less rare we are the greater our value proves to be,” Nupen added.
