Following their swearing-in today, Friday – 03 February 2023, the Executive Mayor of the City of Johannesburg, Cllr Thapelo Amad, has decided to appoint the following Councillors as Members of the Mayoral Committee (MMCs).
1. Transport: Cllr. Kenny Kunene
2. Health and Social Development: Cllr. Ennie Makhafola
The Executive Mayor has wished the new MMCs well in their new responsibilities and urged them to spare nothing of themselves in serving the residents of Johannesburg.
Today’s appointment completes a team of skilled councillors who will work with the Executive Mayor to implement the Government of Local Unity GLU mandate and government programmes (IDP, SDBIP) as informed by the Growth and Development Strategy (GDS) 2040.
