In an effort to build the State’s capacity, the National School of Government has launched an executive programme for accounting officers in the public sector.
The Etella programme is part of two courses approved by Cabinet to give effect to the commitment to build the capacity of the State.
In a statement, Minister for Public Service and Administration Senzo Mchunu says the first course, which ran between November 15 and 20, was the Economic Governance Spring School training for members of the Executive from all spheres of government including Ministers, Premiers, Deputy Ministers and Mayors.
Etella, meanwhile, begins on December 7 and is undertaken by the National School of Government in partnership with University College London.
“Etella will help public sector accounting officers enhance their capabilities in executive leadership, optimise digital transformation, build high performance teams, apply appropriate financial modelling, and embed execution diligence,” he said.
