The Department of Environment, Forestry and Fisheries in partnership with Ngudo Youth Development will host a two-day Youth Career Expo in Madombidzha village, Makhado, Limpopo, on 14 and 15 June 2019.

The Expo is targeted at learners in Grades 11 to 12, youth out of school and graduate in and around Makhado area, who will be exposed to careers, bursary and internship opportunities in the Environment, Marine, Engineering, Conservation, Legal, Management and many more diverse career fields.

The two-day Expo will include activities such as exhibitions and presentations. The Department has also partnered with Coca Cola Beverages South Africa, University of Venda, Department of Basic Education, Makhado Local Municipality to deliver the Youth Career Expo.

The Ngudo Youth Development and Environmental Affairs Youth Career Expo will be preceded by a clean-up activity as part of the countrywide Good Green Deeds campaign launched on 8 March 2019 by President Cyril Ramaphosa.

The Good Green Deeds campaign seeks to highlight the importance of active citizenry in the protection and management of natural resources and pollution in the neighbourhoods we live in, rivers, the oceans and the role they play in the life of all South Africans.
 
Illegal dumping and littering are some of the most common problems in South Africa. Continuous education and awareness raising on waste management matters, plays a significant role towards the eradication unsustainable waste management practices and the promotion of a clean and healthy environment.
