Tania Campbell has been removed in a no-confidence motion as the mayor of Ekurhuleni.
Campbell was voted out on Thursday by 126 votes in support of the motion, while 91 councillors voted against the motion.
The African National Congress (ANC), Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and a group of smaller political parties brought forward the motion and supported its adoption.
It was Campbell’s second removal from office after her first removal in October 2022.
She was quickly voted back into office because the ANC and the EFF disagreed about whom among them should hold power in the City.
