President Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to appear before the State capture commission of inquiry next month.

Commission chairperson, Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo, said that four days had been set aside for Ramaphosa’s testimony.

On 22 and 23 April, he will testify on behalf of the ANC, and on 28 and 29 April, he will be testifying in his capacity as president of the country.

Ramaphosa previously indicated that he would testify on behalf of the ANC.

He was the deputy president during Jacob Zuma’s presidency when most of the alleged large-scale government corruption, which the Zondo commission was set up to investigate, took place.

South Africa records 510 new Covid-19 cases, 55 new deaths

South Africa recorded 510 new Covid-19 infections by Tuesday along with 55 new Covid-19-related deaths, taking the confirmed death toll to 52 251.

The total number of healthcare workers vaccinated under the Sisonke Protocol is 194 257.

KwaZulu-Natal recorded the most confirmed active cases with 5 785, followed by the Western Cape with 4 850 and the Northern Cape with 2 617.

ANC member warns of 'new party' being hatched in Ace Magashule's office

Supporters of President Cyril Ramaphosa have started hitting back against the party's so-called "radical economic transformation"  faction, which has been supporting ANC secretary-general Ace Magashule.

Some ANC leaders have spoken out against Magashule and his RET faction, ahead of a scheduled national executive committee meeting this weekend.

ANC Eastern Cape secretary, Lulama Ngcukayitobi said "the ANC should be alive to the risk of keeping certain individuals working in the offices of the secretary-general and pronouncing themselves outside the ANC pronouncements".
