They said Magashule's behaviour and utterances were completely at odds with the Freedom Charter and the constitution of the ANC.

Mayor Mashaba is expected to visit the area later today.

President Cyril Ramaphosa visited Alexandra last week and promised the residents that an inter-governmental team will Mashaba and iron out a plan to solve service delivery challenges in the township.

More than 1 000 people have been reported killed by the storm, the flooding it caused and heavy rains before it hit.

The World Bank estimates the affected countries will need over $2-billion to recover.
