Tomorrow, Friday 10 July 2020, the Democratic Alliance (DA) Shadow Minister of Labour and Employment, Michael Cardo MP, and the DA Shadow Deputy Minister of Labour and Employment, Michael Bagraim MP, will expose the ongoing issues at the Compensation Fund and chart a way forward.
The Compensation Fund, like the UIF, will soon come under massive administrative and financial strain due to a flood of claims triggered by occupationally acquired Covid-19. If the Fund continues to ignore internal challenges, it too will buckle under pressure and deny thousands of South Africans access to relief.
The DA will brief the media on the internal constraints at the Fund and provide recommendations on how the Compensation Fund could potentially divert a major disaster.
The briefing will take place virtually via Zoom.
Details of the briefing are as follows:
Date: Friday, 10 July 2020
Time: 11:00
