The DA in Gauteng welcomes the reopening of discussions between ourselves and former members of the Johannesburg Multi-Party Coalition in a further attempt to provide a real alternative to the chaos and corruption of the ANC-EFF doomsday gang.

The DA will today meet with other political parties to explore whether there is a way forward to guarantee a stable coalition government that residents of Johannesburg can rely on for delivery.

The DA is committed to making good on our legacy as a good faith coalition builder. From the DA’s collaboration with the IFP in 2004 to the ground-breaking 2006 coalition that put Cape Town on the road to recovery, growth, and an end to loadshedding, the DA has walked the walk on working across political differences to deliver for the people of South Africa.

We share the belief of the residents of Johannesburg that the trustworthiness and reliability of all coalition partners are essential to building a reliable coalition. We continue to work towards finding this foundation in Johannesburg.
