The Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition, Mr Ebrahim Patel will brief the media on the Electric Vehicles (EVs) Roadmap following Cabinet's approval of the White Paper on EVs that aims to ensure South Africa becomes part of the global shift from internal combustion engines to new technology vehicles (electric vehicles).

The policy supports investments in the development and expansion of new and existing manufacturing plants to support the production of electric vehicles in the country.

Minister Patel will also provide an update on the Green Hydrogen Commercialisation Strategy.
