President Joseph Kabila of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)
and his Ugandan counterpart Yoweri Museveni arrived in Tanzania
Sunday for two days of talks on the security situation in the DRC.
Government is set to formalise its plans to deploy forces, together
with Mozambique and Ethiopia, to monitor a ceasefire between the
army and rebels in Burundi by the end of January.
Deputy President Jacob Zuma will travel to New York, United States
of America this evening, 3 December 2002, to solicit support from
the United Nations for the Burundi peace process.
Deputy President Jacob Zuma is in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, today,
Tuesday, 26 November 2002, for the finalisation of the Burundi
ceasefire negotiations.
Deputy President Jacob Zuma is expected to brief Ugandan President
Yoweri Museveni in Kampala today, on the position of the Burundi
ceasefire negotiations.
