The South African Revenue Service (Sars), again, outstripped its
targeted revenue figure, collecting R1,5-billion more than was
budgeted for in 2002/03.
The National Treasury may be forced to delay the introduction of an
amnesty for individuals who had illegally stashed money offshore to
allow more time for consultation.
Advisers, or "facilitators", who assisted individuals to move money
offshore illegally, will not be eligible for amnesty in terms of
new draft legislation.
