Equatorial Guinea is preparing an extradition request for 69
alleged mercenaries to be sent to that country for trial, the
Constitutional Court was told yesterday.
Zimbabwean police yesterday charged 60 suspected mercenaries
detained in the country with attempting to purchase firearms
without a certificate, their lawyer said.
The government was concerned that South African citizens may be
among the 64 alleged mercenaries aboard a possibly US-registered
aeroplane impounded in Zimbabwe on Sunday.
