Zweli Mkhize to deliver keynote address

27th July 2017

The Ikusasa LeAfrika Foundation (ILAF) Chairperson Dr.  Zweli Mkhize, will deliver the keynote address at the launch of the Invest in our Youth to Build our Future Program at the Capital Moloko Hotel, in Sandton.

This major social upliftment project is being launched by the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity (including the South Africa Alphas). The event also includes the inaugural launch of the Dr. Alfred Xuma Inaugural Award.

Alpha Phi Alpha as an organisation is known for championing the interests of the oppressed worldwide and has played a pivotal role in the liberation struggle in South Africa.

“Our relationship with the fraternity dates as far back as the 1920s. When one of the founding fathers of the ANC Dr. AB Xuma became a member of the fraternity while studying medicine in USA. He went on to become the first black doctor to practice medicine in South Africa,” adds Dr Mkhize, also the Treasurer General of the African National Congress (ANC).

ILAF is a national organisation based in Pietermaritzburg. It is the brain-child of Dr. Mkhize. Its mission is to create and initiate sustainable economic and social development interventions and opportunities in marginalized communities.
