President Jacob Zuma will lead a South African delegation to the fifteenth Ordinary Session of the African Union (AU) Assembly from July 25 to July 27 in Kampala, Uganda.
Zuma will be accompanied by International Relations and Cooperation Minister Maite Nkoana-Mashabane, Health Minister, Aaron Motsoaledi, Public Services and Administration Minister Richard Baloyi, and Water and Environmental Affairs Minister Buyelwa Sonjica.
Nkoana-Mashabane will lead the delegation to the seventeenth Ordinary Session of the Executive Council from July 22 to July 23, her department said in a statement on Wednesday.
The summit's theme - Maternal, Infant and Child Health and Development in Africa - was in line with South Africa's continued commitment to work towards achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), which included promoting maternal and child health in Africa.
It further demonstrated Africa's commitment to accelerating a reduction in maternal and child mortality.
In this regard, Zuma would be supported by Motsoaledi during the discussion on the theme in the first day of the summit, the department said.
