The Inter-Ministerial Committee (IMC) on State Funerals wishes to announce that government will hold an Official Memorial Service in honour of the late Dr Zola Skweyiya.

The details of the official memorial service are as follows:

DATE:            Wednesday 18 April 2018

TIME:             12H00

VENUE:         Hall J, Tshwane Events Centre in Pretoria

Dr Skweyiya passed away on the 11th of April 2018.  President Cyril Ramaphosa has since declared a special official funeral, Category 1 for Dr Skweyiya.

The funeral service will take place on Saturday, 21 April 2018 at CRC Church, Corner Lynnwood Road and Solomon Mahlangu Drive, Pretoria.

Members of the media who wish to cover the memorial and funeral services are advised to submit their personal details as per the registration form on http://www.gcis.gov.za/content/media-registration.  All fields must be completed.

Accreditation cards will be issued on the day of the memorial and a day before the funeral.  Those covering only the funeral will be advised at a later stage where to collect their cards.  

The deadline for the submission of details is Tuesday, 17 April 2018 at 15:00 for both the official memorial and funeral service.
