Ferial Haffajee is the editor-in-chief of City Press newspaper, having previously headed up the Mail & Guardian from 2004 until 2009. She sits on the boards of the International Women’s Media Foundation, the World Editors Forum, the International Press Institute and the Inter Press Service, and she has won several awards, both local and international, related to media freedom and independence as well as for her reporting over the years. Haffajee lives in Johannesburg. This is her first book.
