Webber Wentzel appoints new partner in Employment Practice

Leading South African law firm Webber Wentzel has appointed Claire Gaul as a partner in its Employment Practice in Cape Town.

Gaul is an expert on employment law (including individual and collective employment disputes, employee share schemes, restraints of trade, employment equity, employee data privacy and black economic empowerment). She also has substantial experience in litigation, general commercial law, banking regulatory law and family law.

"We are happy to have Claire Gaul on board and are confident about strengthening our employment offering in our Cape Town office," says Deon Visagie, partner at Webber Wentzel.

Gaul obtained her of BA (Hons) and LLB (both with distinction) from the University of the Witwatersrand, and her LLM (Labour Law) from the University of Johannesburg. She has a certificate in Advanced Company Law from the University of the Witwatersrand and has lectured part time at the School of Law of the University of the Witwatersrand.

Gaul has been recognised in Band 4 of Chambers Global from 2013 to 2015 and in the Pension and Benefits category of Who's Who Legal from 2013 to 2015.
