Deloitte's objective with the Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT) Predictions report is to identify critical inflection points that it believe should inform industry strategic thinking, and to explain how it thinks these will manifest over the next 12-18 months for companies in TMT and other industries.

From a retail sector perspective, the report offers examples of how companies can benefit from using real-time data to move beyond transactions and understand their customers better. The rise in the Click and Collect trend (an increasingly fundamental part of the e-commerce offer) is also explored in detail, whereby online orders are picked up from a physical location rather than delivered to the purchaser’s home.
