The Manufacturing Circle last week Friday released a plan outlining how South Africa could create a million jobs over a ten-year period through pursuing a series of reforms designed at stimulating demand for South African manufactured products and improving the investment climate. Minister Rob Davies said government was committed to working with the Manufacturing Circle to enhance the sector.

the dti Industrial Policy Action Plan (IPAP 2016/17 – 2018/19) have highlighted a need for concerted efforts to address deep-seated and serious skills deficits and mismatches that impact on the capacity of the economy to grow faster and diversify more effectively.

Minister Davies media briefing will be preceded by briefing of the Portfolio Committee on Trade and Industry, on Annual Report of IPAP; on the status of the manufacturing sector; and on the upcoming WTO Ministerial Conference.
