Spoor & Fisher recognised once again as SA’s top IP law practice

Specialist, full service international intellectual property law firm Spoor & Fisher has cemented its status as South Africa’s top IP law firm for 2016 winning the PMR.Africa Diamond Award for the second consecutive year. The firm has been dominant in this category, having won it on more than 5 occasions since 2010.

The honour comes against significant competition from leading law firms rated across a range of attributes including international and African presence, Black Economic Empowerment (BEE), specialist knowledge, reputation and accessibility of partners amongst others.

On the honour, Keith Brown, Chairperson of the Partnership says “That we continue to lead this category is a testament to our commitment to excellence and passion for our clients’ business. The partnership is constantly redefining what is possible and delivering exceptional service and business outcomes.”

“It is gratifying that our clients entrust us with critical cases that impact their bottom-line and more so to see our exemplary work being recognised,” adds Brown.

Earlier this year, the boutique law firm was named the Best Intellectual Property Law Firm in South Africa by Managing Intellectual Property (MIP), one of the world’s leading IP Law magazines and Best Lawyers, one of the oldest and most respected peer-review publications.

It has also been acknowledged as a Band 1 IP law firm by Chambers Global and ranked as the top IP firm by World Trade Mark Review (WTR).

“As a specialist firm with almost 100 years of experience, we have the reputation of taking on some of the most complex IP cases the country has seen and are proud of our extremely successful track record.”

“These awards are a demonstration of our tremendous body of work and the ingenuity of our staff at all levels and across all regions,” Brown says in conclusion.
