SOUTHERN AFRICAN REGIONAL POLICE CHIEFS COOPERATION ORGANISATION (SARPCCO) EXTRAORDINARY MEETING OF TECHNICAL ORGANS

The South African Police Service will host the Southern African Regional Police Chiefs Cooperation Organisation (SARPCCO) annual extra ordinary meeting from 20 to 22 October 2014 in South Africa.

The highlight of the event is the appointment of the National Commissioner of the SAPS as the Chairperson of the SADC Chiefs of Police Sub-Committee of the Organ on Inter-State Defense and Security Committee (ISDSC) during a ceremonial handing over.
SARPCCO was established in 1995 for police forces to combine resources and expertise in fighting transnational crime. SARPCCO has been able to develop a comprehensive approach in terms of regional policing through the cooperative engagement of member countries such as joint cross-border operations, joint training, harmonisation of legislation, and the sharing of good practices.

The meeting will be attended by the following SARPCCO member countries: South Africa, Angola, Botswana, Namibia, DRC, Lesotho, Madagascar, Seychelles, Mozambique, Zambia, Tanzania, Mauritius, Swaziland and Zimbabwe.
