South Africa’s Minister of Transport Dr Blade Nzimande together with the African National Congress (ANC) Veteran and Chairman of Corruption Watch, Mavuso Msimang; former Treason Trialist and South African activist and diplomat, Mosie Moolla; and the Executive Director, Puku Children’s Literature Foundation, Elinor Sisulu  will provide insight into the life of South African activist and icon, Dr Mohamed ‘Chota’ Motala (1921-2005). at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) on Wednesday, 12 September 2018.
 
Hosted by the University’s Faculty of Humanities the Ahmed Kathrada Foundation, and the Rabia Motala family, in partnership with the University’s Library and Information Centre, the panel will examine  the life of anti-apartheid icon Dr Mohamed ‘Chota’ Motala’s (1921-2005) intellectual project and activism from his early years through to his role as an ambassador in the new South Africa.
