The South African Revenue Services (SARS) has today convened a second forum of commissioners from bordering countries, including Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Mauritius, Namibia, Swaziland, Zambia, Zimbabwe and South Africa, to unpack core tax and customs issues specifically linked to illicit financial flows (IFF). This includes issues related to base erosion and profit sharing, transfer pricing and cross-border enforcement impacting the Southern African region.
The forum seeks to chart a road map and maximise the respective participating countries’ statutory mandates of revenue collection.
