SAPS: KwaZulu-Natal FCS arrested 321 suspects and secured 9 life sentences

KwaZulu-Natal Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit managed to secure nine life sentences during the month of April 2016 for sexual related offences. The members worked tirelessly and arrested 321 accused for committing various cases including rape, attempted rape, sexual assault, statutory rape, kidnapping and other sexual related offences. The members secured 43 convictions included nine life sentences and 424 years for various crime.

Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni welcomed the sentence handed down to accused and commend the KwaZulu-Natal FCS for their good effort they made. “We will continue protecting our children and women from sexual predators. We will continue investigating and arresting those who are involve in abusing our decent children and women. The victims of such crimes must break the silence and report such crimes to the police, she said.
