The South African Communist Party (SACP) in the Western Cape will hold its 9th Provincial Congress from 18 to 20 March 2022 in Cape Town Lodge Hotel. The Congress is historic because it takes place in the centennial year of the historic founding of the SACP in Cape Town in the year 1921.

The Congress takes place during a tumultuous period domestically and internationally which sets the scene for robust discussions and resolutions. In the domestic arena the neoliberal offensive by the DA and right-wing forces is undeniable and on the international scale the global-monopoly capitalism is raging on including the objectionable Western sponsored imperialist conflict between Ukraine and Russia.

For purposes of this congress the First Deputy General Secretary of the vanguard Party of the working class, Comrade Solly Mapaila, will give a keynote political address to the Congress which will dissect these issues through a historical materialist class perspective on Saturday.
