SACP Tshwane: SACP Tshwane Distances itself From Fabricated Social Media Claims

The SACP in the District of Tshwane has noted the "VOTE OF THANKS STATEMENT" attributed to "PROPHET SHEPHERD BUSHIRI" circulating on social media. It is stated in the statement that "There are many political parties in South Africa that stood with us" (Bushiri and his wife), and that "The South African Communist Party of Tshwane led by Mr Solly Thabatha, to mention just a few", is one of those parties, which are mentioned in the statement.

The SACP fully respects the private right of every person to follow or choose a religious belief and denomination, or to neither follow nor choose a religious belief and denomination.

While the SACP has previously worked with, and will continue to work with faith based organisations in a structured way in pursuit of shared objectives to alter the material living conditions of our people for the better and fight corruption, the SACP in Tshwane wishes to place it on record that neither the Party nor its District Chairperson Cde Solly Thabatha has ever met with Bushiri and his wife or church to pledge support.

The SACP has noted the arrest of Bushiri and his wife, respects the rule of democratic law and reiterates its unwavering anti-corruption stance.
