SACP GP: SACP Gauteng is gearing for an emphatic election campaign launch on the 4th of June in support of the ANC

Following the launch of the ‘Red Brigades’ and training on the ANC election manifesto, the SACP party is upbeat about mobilisation towards a full capacity crowd at the FNB stadium, as Gauteng ANC launches its 2016 local government elections campaign on Saturday the 04 June 2016.

We call on the working class and communists to attend the rally in large numbers.

The SACP Gauteng Province is satisfied that despite persisting challenges, many significant gains achieved in the country are a result of the overriding centrality of the working class in struggle. These gains must be consolidated and jealously defended. This is only possible in the context of the National Democratic revolution, through a sweeping ANC victory.

Over 500 Red Brigades have thus received comprehensive election campaign training and are on their marks. The brigades will lead an emphatic election campaign in support of the ANC focussing mainly on the voter mobilisation of the working class constituencies across the province.

They will also occupy the front ranks of the campaign, principally to ensure meeting of peoples basic needs and to engage in community based struggles for the protection of public property. Neo-fascist forces have unleashed a violent campaign of terror and destruction of public property, resulting in the lynching of schools, universities and previously clinics, libraries and police stations.

The SACP is convinced that only the mounting of a deeper campaign for the restoration of democracy can guarantee more gains towards the improvement of the lives of South Africans, for job creation and to end poverty and inequality
