SACP Gauteng: SACP Gauteng mourns the passing of comrade Zama Siweya a trenchant political educator

The SACP Gauteng Province is deeply saddened by the passing of Comrade Zama Siweya following a battle with cancer. At the time of his death Comrade Zama was the Provincial Education Officer of NEHAWU in Gauteng for close to two decades.

He belonged to a generation of SACP, the trade union movement and ANC activists who served it diligently in various capacities, as former Ekurhuleni Regional Secretary and Gauteng Provincial Chairperson. Cde Zama was to many of our comrades a meticulous leader, a mentor and a very patient but trenchant political educator.

The memorial service of Comrade Zama Siweya takes place tomorrow, Wednesday, 10 February 2016 at 12h00 at the Johannesburg City Hall. He will be laid to rest in Giyani Limpopo province on Saturday 13 February 2016.

The SACP once more expresses profound sorrow and heartfelt condolences to Comrade Zama’s family, friends and comrades for the sad loss of a revolutionary.
