SACP Gauteng: SACP Gauteng 2019 Election Blitz Received Well In Soweto

The 2019 Voter Readiness Campaign by the South African Communist Party (SACP) and the Congress of South African Trade Union (COSATU) in Gauteng was received well by the residents of Jabulani in Soweto.

The blitz in Soweto follows another one held at the Pan Africa Mall in Alexandra, where volunteers of the party and Cosatu reached out to working class communities encouraging them to prepare to vote ANC in the 2019 National and Provincial Election to be held in May.

The campaign started in August in the Johannesburg CBD, and moved to the Kempton Park and Tshwane CBD’s in September. In October, the campaign touched the CBD’s of Germiston, Randfontein and Vereeniging.

The blitz was led by SACP Provincial Secretary comrade Jacob Mamabolo, Cosatu’s Provincial Chairperson comrade Amos Monyela, Cosatu’s Deputy Chariperson comrade Thabang Sonyathi among others.

The 2019 Voter Readiness Blitz and the Red Brigades will move to Eldorado Park, south of Johannesburg next week. As part of the campaign SACP and Cosatu are urging working class communities to check if they appear on the voter’s roll, confirm their physical address with the Independent Electoral Commission and to vote ANC in the 2019 elections.
