SABC Acting Chief Operations Officer to speak at upcoming seminar

Members of the media are reminded about tomorrow's seminar on the the SABC's role in promoting social cohesion and non-racialism.

The discussion will probe the SABC's role in nation-building and if it has been able to fulfill its social cohesion mandate in light of the kind of dysfunctionality seen at the public broadcaster over the past few years.

Speakers include the SABC's Acting COO, Bessie Tugwana; media academic from UNISA's Communications Department, Prof Pieter Fourie and; senior lecturer from Wits School of Governance who specialises in issues of non-racialism and social cohesion, Dr Caryn Abrahams. Former Director of Operations at the Freedom of Expression Institute and current head of the Africa Middle East Centre, Na'eem Jeenah, will moderate the event.
