President Jacob Zuma wishes all South Africans and the overwhelming majority Christian worshipers in the country a successful and happy Easter weekend as millions of worshipers undertake their annual pilgrimage to various places across the country.

“For millions of our Christians across the nation, the Easter Holidays are a time of prayers, reflection and re-dedication to their faith. We wish them a blessed Easter. We also extend good wishes to non-Christians as well who will spend this time resting with families and friends and attending various holiday activities. As we mark 20 years of freedom and democracy this year, we urge all to use this Easter to reflect on the wonderful achievements of the country, which have become possible through working together as South Africans from all walks of life. In prayers this weekend, let us also recommit to building a caring, united and prosperous South Africa,” said President Zuma.

The President further appeals to all road users to be considerate to other road users as well as pedestrians. “I would like to appeal to all road users to obey all the rules of the road.  Ending the carnage on our roads is the responsibility of every road user.  People must drive cautiously and with courtesy to others. We wish everyone a blessed and safe Easter,’’ said the President.
