Public Protector candidate Busisiwe Mkhwebane

The Ad Hoc Committee to nominate a person for appointment as Public Protector completed its work today, adopting a report which will be presented to the National Assembly (NA).

“We are happy that we concluded our work within the time frame provided for by the NA and the report will now be scheduled for debate in the NA next week Wednesday,” said Dr Makhosi Khoza, the Chairperson of the Committee.

Dr Khoza was satisfied with the work of the Committee, saying that she was confident that the nominated candidate, Adv Busisiwe Mkhwebane, met all the requirements. She also reiterated that the process was consistent with the provisions of the law.

“I would like to thank Committee Members and staff for their diligence and a job well done, as well as the media for keeping the public informed about the work of the Committee,” said Dr Khoza.
