SA: Home affairs on release of Ask Afrika Orange Index 2014 survey on government’s service trends

The Department of Home Affairs has noted and welcomes the Ask Afrika Orange Index 2014 - a recently released survey on government’s service trends which rated our service delivery among the best within government. We were second only to the SA Revenue Service.

This endorsement consolidates ongoing efforts by the Department of Home Affairs to fulfill our mandate with a view to improving the lives of South Africans through the provision of a good quality service. As a frontline government department, we continue to strive for a clean and credible National Population Register (NPR) while we strengthen initiatives aimed at modernizing our institution through an advanced technological infrastructure, to create a paperless Home Affairs.

At the centre of our operations, we are seized with a commitment to develop our officials to become public servants who are ethical, have integrity and can be trusted.

Said Minister Malusi Gigaba: “We note this recognition and draw encouragement from its outcomes. To this end, we acknowledge that though we have made strides in improving our services, more still needs to be done to consolidate the restoration of national identity, citizenship and dignity of all South Africans."
