The Portfolio Committee on Communications has recommended 12 candidates to fill the non-executive board positions at the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC).

The Committee received more than 300 applications, shortlisted 36 and interviewed 34 candidates. 

It recommended Ms Rachel Kalidass, Ms Nomvuyiso Batyi, Mr Krish Naidoo, Mr Mathatha Tsedu, Ms Khanyisile Kweyama, Mrs Febbe Potgieter-Gqubule, Mr Dinkwanyane Mohuba, Mr Jack Phalane, Mr John Matisonn, Mr Micheal Markovitz, Mr Victor Rambau and Mr Bongumusa Makhathini.

The names will be tabled in the National Assembly tomorrow for final adoption and then be forwarded to the President for his appointment.
