SA: Committee welcomes Zimbabwean Exemption Permit

The Portfolio Committee on Home Affairs notes the announcement by the Ministry of Home Affairs of the opening of the Zimbabwean Exemption Permit. This new dispensation replaces the Zimbabwean Special Permit which started in 2014 and expires at the end of this year.

The new dispensation continues the commitment to the orderly management of migration and will play an essential role in ensuring that the department has accurate record of who is in the country and what they are doing here. The special dispensation is also in accordance with the security role that the department has adopted.

The Committee encourages ZSP holders to apply for the ZET on time to enable the department to process the application quickly.
