R2K to host a public dialogue on ‘How Secrecy Affects Our Lives’

24th October 2014

On Saturday 25th October 2014, the Right2Know Gauteng will be hosting a public dialogue entitled, ‘How Secrecy Affects Our Lives’ in Meadowlands Zone 3, Soweto.

South Africa is facing a crisis of secrecy. Whether as applied to the arms deal, Nkandla, the proposed nuclear programme, e-tolls, etc, a veil of secrecy is being thrown up to prevent the public’s right to know. As a result, we are faced with parallel crisis of corruption at all levels in both the public and private sectors, of accountability and ultimately, of our democracy.

Join us, together with the Public Protector’s office, the South African History Archive, Corruption Watch and others to interrogate and discuss secrecy and accountability.
Time: 10h00AM - 12h00PM
