23rd August 2016

The final Public Protector candidate to be recommended to the National Assembly is intended to be decided upon in tomorrow’s (Wednesday, 24 August 2016) meeting of the Ad Hoc Committee established to nominate a person to be appointed as the new Public Protector.

The meeting is scheduled to take place at 1pm in Committee Room V475 on the Fourth Floor of the Old Assembly Building in Parliament.

Last week, the Committee deliberated on its initial shortlist of 14 candidates and reduced it to five candidates. These five candidates will be deliberated upon in tomorrow’s meeting and whoever receives the most support will then be tabled for endorsement in the National Assembly by 31 August 2016.
