President Cyril Ramaphosa leads delegation at World Economic Forum (WEF) Roundtable meeting

15th June 2018

President Cyril Ramaphosa will lead a delegation of the South African Government and business at a World Economic Forum (WEF) Roundtable meeting to be held in Johannesburg on 28 June 2018. The Roundtable is convened to “Shape an Inclusive, Sustainable Future for South Africa.”

Government and business will be discussing South Africa’s economic outlook, measures being undertaken to restore investor confidence and driving the inclusive growth imperative in the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

The WEF roundtable will contribute towards South Africa’s priority of attracting a target of more than US $100 Billion in new investments and resources for job creation and economic growth over the next five years.

South Africa is open for business and is indeed one of the hottest emerging markets of 2018. The regulation of the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, the strength of South Africa’s auditing, reporting standards as well as accountability of private institutions and the efficacy of corporate boards, amongst the highest in the world, provide sound reasons that attract investors.

The new investments will contribute to the National Development Plan (NDP) goals, and advance the economy to create employment especially for the youth.

Government will use the opportunity to seek partnership with business in building an inclusive and prosperous South Africa.
