A new version of the PSC Report series was launched in July. The monthly publication has been re-designed to improve readability and highlight key issues that the AU Peace and Security Council deals with.

Since the PSC Report was first published in 2009 it has become a unique source on Africa’s security challenges. The new-look report will continue to be the most reliable means of following the work of the PSC.

This issue considers the recent decision to lift Egypt’s suspension from the AU. As Libya comes back onto the AU’s agenda, the challenges confronting the PSC in this volatile country are reviewed. Insights are provided on the PSC’s role in post-conflict reconstruction and development, as well as cooperation between the PSC and the UN Security Council.

Complementing the monthly report is a new website dedicated to the ISS’ work on the PSC. For regular updates on developments in the peace and security environment, visit the website here.
