Pan Africanist Congress of Azania (PAC) is very disappointed with Presidency's statement on Marikana killings compensation. PAC's call have not been answered as we are demanding for a full responsibility.

We now know that the Marikana Massacre was sanctioned, coordinated and carried out by this government. What should prevail is that all those who played a role in Marikana killings should face the might of the law.

Cyril Ramaphosa, who was the stooge of the white-monopoly capital represented the London Mines (LonMin) in Rustenburg coordinated the activities which led to the brutal and heartless killings.

those who coordinated the massacre on the ground should be prosecuted and this will include the then-minister police Nathi Mthethwa and the then-minister of mineral resources Susan Shabangu must have their day in court for leading a well-coordinated and funded campaign to kill mineworkers for asking for a living wage.

Part of accepting a full responsibility must be the fulfilment of a demand for a living wage for the exploited mineworkers that they are provided all the benefits inclusive of the housing which they deserve.

The once-off payment will not address the plight of the workers. What can address the plight of the workers is the transfer of ownership of the mines to the hands of the exploited workers, it is the only thing which will address and do justice to the death of the gallant fighters of gallant workers of Marikana.

We reject the categorisation of the workers that those who are injured ill be dealt in a later stage. There must be a universal and fair treatment of both the deceased and the injured.
