PAC: PAC accelerates calls for Africa Day to be declared a public holiday

South Africa (Occupied Azania) is not outside Africa, we must start to do what African people are doing. We remain to be one of few countries in the continent which does not pay honour to Africa Day in a deserving way. We are embarrassed to see our government behaving like we exist outside Africa and we must put an end to that.

Pan Africanist Congress of Azania (PAC) joins other Pan Africanists in Africa and diaspora to commemorate the born of African Union (AU). A continental chamber was engineered to bring about liberation in the entire continent but we came across challenges and of course successes here and there.

We cannot be seen celebrating selective/elite holidays like Christmas Day, Easter et al while we ignore our own values. This is a hangover of how colonialism has done to our minds. How do we celebrate foreign heritage and history while we are ashamed of our own.

We are of the view that the 25th May shall not be celebrated but commemorated as there are few successes to celebrate. We can only use this day to reflect on the past and rectify many mistakes that our leaders have met to avoid doing the same.

How do we celebrate the 25th May when many of our head-of-states are captured by either the West or East blocs. Our minerals are being stolen by our foreign masters while our people are swimming in poverty with the highest illiteracy rate and other socio-economic ills.
