PAC: Auditor-General report is a wake-up call against looting

Jacob Zuma and the Gupta are not our only problems, we have looters in the local government. We are appealing to law-enforcement chambers to take AG report very serious. We want looters to go to prison, we must set an example.

PAC welcomes the Auditor-General (AG) report of 2015-16 which was released recently. While many people are making unnecessary noise about ABSA paying back a mere R1 Billion which is recommended by the office of Public Protector.

It does not sit well with us that more than R17 Billion is not accounted for, or that it went to wastage and fruitless expenditure while the same government refuses to fund education.

We are calling for follow-up investigations by the office of AG to be able to snap the perpetrators who stole the taxpayers money. People have been looting, stealing without shame the since 1994 the resources belonging to the public.

Our law-enforcement agencies should be tested, we want to see politicians facing the might of law, they should face consequences for their illegal and immoral activities. There should be fitting consequences for criminals despite their status or position in the society, we are fed up.
