One year on: DA to report back on progress made in DA-run metros

2nd August 2017

Tomorrow, Thursday 3 August 2017, marks exactly one year since the historic and game-changing 2016 Local Government Elections in which DA-led governments were elected in cities across the country.

As such, Democratic Alliance (DA) Leader, Mmusi Maimane, will address the media – and the people of South Africa – providing a comprehensive report back on the progress being made in Johannesburg, Tshwane, Nelson Mandela Bay and Cape Town under DA-led governments.

Over the past year in government, these DA-led metros have worked incredibly hard to ensure that the mess we inherited from the ANC is reversed, and that stable and efficient governments are put in place, committed to creating jobs and delivering quality services to the people.

As a party committed to transparent and responsive governance, we believe that citizens have a right to be informed as to the progress government has made, and as to how their taxmoney is being spent

The Leader will be joined by the Mayor of Cape Town, Patricia De Lille, the Mayor of Johannesburg, Herman Mashaba, the Mayor of Tshwane, Solly Msimanga, and the Mayor of Nelson Mandela Bay, Athol Trollip.

The media is invited as follows:
